BENEFITS Of Moving to Henderson Nevada
Benefit #5: Weather and Outdoor Activities and Recreation
Henderson is known for its sunny weather. The sun shines here most days of the year. My favorite time of year is Fall as the weather here is terrific. The hot season is June through mid-September. During these months it is hot but you get used to it. I enjoy sitting outside in the early mornings while drinking my coffee. During those months I am usually going from the air-conditioned office or house to my airconditioned car and not spending too much time outside during the middle of the day unless I am sitting near the pool. I do enjoy walking outside to the warm feel after coming out of a restaurant or taking my dogs for a walk early in the morning. When I first moved to Las Vegas I came from Northern Nevada and my car did not have air-conditioning. It was hot but you get use to it! I have clients that move here and are a little shocked the first summer. Once you live here you get use to the warm summers and enjoy the weather during the rest of the year. Henderson is close to Lake Mead and the Colorado River, which are good for boating, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. Henderson multiple walking trails, golf courses and parks. You can enjoy hiking, golfing and boating all year long. Also, it is a quick 4-hour drive to the Beach in California!
Benefit #4: Shopping, Dining and Entertaining
Henderson offers a large variety of entertainment, restaurants and shopping. Henderson has the District with Shops like REI, Anthropology and Lululemon. There are restaurants such as Bella Vita and our favorite Settebello Pizza with authentic Napoletana pizza made in very hot brick oven. Henderson is minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip with 5-star restaurants and World class entertainment. The new Allegiant Stadium hosts sports events and concerts. There are numerous venues with concerts from some of the biggest stars in the world such as Adele, Christina Aguilar and Garth Brooks. The Las Vegas Strip offers shopping with the Fashion Show Mall, Forum Shops and Crystals. I enjoy meeting shopping at the District or going with my husband to show. Las Vegas hosted the recent Superbowl and we see a lot of exciting events coming here.
Benefit #3: Education
Henderson offers some terrific ranked public schools. Our family moved into Henderson years ago so that my sons would be able to attend the public schools here. My youngest started at Del Webb and enjoyed the tight knight community feel. Both of my sons attended Coronado High School. Coronado has the AP Academy and students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The school is large but has lots of opportunities to participate in sports or Performing Arts. My sons participated in Cross Country Running and the Band. Liberty High School opened in 2003 and also offers AP classes and a wide variety of sports. Liberty’s football team currently ranks #2 in the state. Other athletic teams like the girls’ basketball, softball, and track and field teams consistently rank among the best in the state. There are several options for Private schools including Henderson International School and Foothills Montessori. There are also options for higher education such as Touro University which offers healthcare and education degrees for students.
Benefit #2: Housing Market and Employment
As a real estate agent, I am excited about the Housing market in Henderson. We have condos from the low $300’s to Custom Luxury estate in the multi millions. Values have gone up over the years but there is a wide variety of options for home ownership. We have new construction with communities such as Inspirada, Cadence and Lake Las Vegas. Henderson has multiple high end luxury custom home developments such as Ascaya, Anthem Country Club, MacDonald Highlands, and Terracina in Seven Hills.
Henderson offers employment including constructions workers, health care, Casino jobs to executive jobs and business opportunities. Some of the large employers here include Amazon, Henderson Hospital, Ocean Spray and Levi Straus. This is a big benefit as we continue to attract people here for employment. My oldest son graduated from college recently and he was able to find a job quickly.
Benefit #1: Safety and community feel
You may be wondering how safe Henderson is. Well, you don’t have to worry because Henderson is one of the safest cities in the country. Even with such a large population, the city has gained numerous rankings for being the safest city in the United States. This is due to our low car fatality, low poverty and low violent crime rates. Crime rates are quite low in Henderson for both violent and property crimes. Henderson has many safe neighborhoods which give residents some feeling of community and being safe. When I moved to Las Vegas from a small town I was very worried about living in the big city. I assumed there must be a lot of crime. Living in Henderson is like a small town. It feels safe and has a community feel. There are lots of gated communities and guard gated communities that provide an additional feel of security. I love my neighborhood as I see neighbors walking and enjoy the community. I know you will love Henderson also!
